What is Giesen 0%?
Sounds like: geese-in
Giesen 0% is a range of alcohol-free wines including a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Rosé and a Premium Red.
All of these wines contain no more than 0.5% alcohol by volume – about the same levels that naturally occur in fruit juice.
What Does It Taste Like?
This non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc has delicate aromas of fresh lime, redcurrant and lemon shortbread. Delicious citrus flavors with distinct blackcurrant and passionfruit notes are followed by a crisp, dry finish.
It's mouthwateringly juicy and bright - a light, fresh, and invigorating non-alcoholic wine.
How Many Calories?
At just 19 calories per 5 oz serve, a glass of Giesen 0% has 80% less calories per serve than a traditional 12.5% alc/vol Sauvignon Blanc, and 48% fewer grams of sugar per serving than it’s closest non-alcoholic wine alternative. How’s that for a bonus?!

To produce a high quality alcohol-free option, we go through the full winemaking process first – in other words, our 0% products start life as wine before we remove the alcohol.
This is just one of the ways wine alternatives are made, and it’s how we've created such a varietally expressive end product.
How Is Non-Alcoholic Wine Made?
Not all methods are created equal!
Here are how some existing products are made:

Some products like grape juice don’t contain alcohol at any point during the production process

Some products are ‘naturally’ lighter in alcohol – grapes are picked early and only fermented very briefly which can leave a lot of sugar behind and create a very sweet end product

Some use reverse osmosis, which can be relatively harsh on the wine

We use spinning cone technology, which is a gentle type of distillation popular in perfume making. This technology only arrived in New Zealand in 2019 and in 2021 we purchased our very own machine - the first New Zealand winery to do so.
Here's How It's Made!
We want our non-alcoholic options to give you everything you’d expect from a premium New Zealand wine. So we go through the entire winemaking process, before we gently remove the alcohol. Here's how we do it...
Step One
We make a delicious, full-strength New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with the distinctive flavors and aromas we love.
Step Two
We use innovative spinning cone technology to gently distill the wine into layers:
AROMA
ALCOHOL
BODY
Step Three
We carefully collect that delicate Sauvignon Blanc aroma and add it back into the body of the wine (minus the alcohol!)
Step Four
We add just a touch of premium grape juice to round out the final blend. There you have it! Delish.
